Third‐Party Aggregated Data for Appraisals

Third-party real estate data providers arose to “fill gaps” by combining multiple sources and offering value-added analytics. These include major tech companies (e.g. Zillow, Redfin), data vendors (CoreLogic, ATTOM, Black Knight/Veros), and niche data firms. Their propositions to appraisers typically emphasize:

  • Unified access: Instead of visiting dozens of county websites or multiple MLS systems, appraisers can query a single platform. Zillow/Redfin provide extensive online property details (often free to consumers).
